Founded in 1899, Bank of Cyprus Group is the leading financial services organisation in Cyprus, with a dynamic presence in Greece and Russia and operations in the United Kingdom and Australia, Romania, Ukraine and Channel Islands.

The Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Cyprus and is operating under its Regulation and Supervision.

The Group offers a wide range of financial products and services, which include banking services, leasing, factoring, brokerage, fund management, investment banking, general and life insurance services in Cyprus and Greece.

As part of its strategic plan, the Group expanded its international activities in Eastern Europe entering the markets of Romania, Ukraine and Russia in 2007 and 2008.

In March 2007, the Bank expanded its operations in Romania with the provision of leasing services.  In June 2007, the first banking branch became operational in Bucharest.  Today the Bank operates 12 branches and 2 agencies.

The Group currently operates through a total of 595 branches, of which 211 in Russia, 185 in Greece, 143 in Cyprus, 27 in Ukraine, 12 in Romania, 12 in Australia, 4 in the United Kingdom and 1 in the Channel Islands. Bank of Cyprus also has 9 representative offices in Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Canada and South Africa. The Bank of Cyprus Group employs 12.009 staff worldwide.

At 31 December 2010, the Group’s Total Assets amounted to €42,64 bn and the Shareholders’ Funds were €2,74 bn. At the same date, the Bank's market share in deposits and loans in Cyprus amounted to 28,1% and 27,5%, respectively. The Bank operates 143 branches in Cyprus.

The shares of the Bank are listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Athens Exchange.  The Bank is the largest listed company on the CSE in terms of market capitalisation and has a well-diversified shareholder base.
